Educators that work with Hispanic heritage language learners will reflect on how they can build a bridge that reaches out to their students by recognizing them first as persons of promise who are rich with culture and traditions, meeting their needs at their appropriate learning level, considering their learning profile, and challenging them to learn. This session is especially helpful for new teachers, as well as for those who are interested in refreshing their perspective on how to work with heritage language learners. In addition, the session will provide opportunities to network in Spanish, as educators will be using the target language in prompts and examples, as they are presented and discussed in Spanish.
